Voice Description

My voice has a wide age range: from young adult to sixty-something female. Empathy and compassion come through strongly in my voice, although it can also be upbeat, persuasive, or intellectual. I can sound very smooth and corporate, or playful, zany, and twenty-something. When reading narratives, I can do a British accent, or mold my voice to a sound and style that fits the setting and characters. My "default" accent is mid-western, but I can summon an east coast accent from my roots.

Mid-western, East coast (New York, New Jersey),British, French. I can also read in Spanish and French with a good accent even though I am not a native speaker of either language.

My Voice Experience

I have been doing voice over work unknowingly for many years. I have been a librarian since the seventies, and have read aloud daily to children. I worked with volunteers in a library for the blind and handicapped, recruiting and training volunteers to record books for the blind. I have been a clown and done puppet shows for children, giving different voices to each character. I have been a member of a comedy improv troupe and used my voice in an assortment of ways in the sketches. I have taken the master class from Voices for All and worked with a coach to record my demos.
