My Voice Experience
Hi, how are you. Here's just a bit about myself, but I promise I am much better by 'voice'... I just filmed a movie called The Visiting with Nicole Kidman as well as became the voice of Gia Sari Salon in New York City. I was brought into the world of voiceovers first by my friends who always thought I should be the voice of a Rugrat or another cartoon child, every since I was really little, I on the other hand always wanted to be a Broadway Star - like every other sane little girl who grew up in NY. I met a casting director (Donna Grossman) and she told me that I should most definetly get inolved in that type of work becuase my voice is so unique, as I can sound like a quirky kid, mild teanager or sexy adult. From there I went to PDR Voice Inc. and took both private and group lessons - which each taught me other things, you may think 1 on 1 lessons are the best but sometimes listening to others is the best way to learn. From there I cut my demo and have been well on my way. I found that my training in both the theatre and camera was exteremly helpful in gaining experience as I was already comfortable enough in front of people to give my all every time. Acting just comes naturally, and its great to have another outlet which I am able to use to give myself to something else.
My Training
I was an acting major at Indiana University - Bloomington, as well as a singer. I have training from the School for Film and Television in NYC for both voice overs and on camera work. I took voice over lessons with both Peter Rofe and Paul Liberti, both based in NYC working on commerical voice over techniques, animation and character techniques, narration voice overs and PSA voice overs announcements. I also have a background in musical theatre, performing arts, singing, drama, comedy, dance, and public speaking.
