Voice Description

I would describe my voice as male, young to middle-aged adult. I have an every man sound. Due to my vocal training I am able to have a clear and resonant voice that is good for narration and the reading of instructions and/or important information as well as being professional enough for presentations and other such projects. My voice can also be more "laid back" which would be good for commercials.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

The only accents that I can do well, admittedly in my opinion, are:

Irish, British.

However, without further training in that area through a dialect coach, it would probably be better to stick with American English.

My Voice Experience

I was recently hired to record the VO for an app on the iPhone/iPad market. I also am the intro to a podcast as well as an occasional guest host of the same podcast. I have worked with Renee Beale, a local vocal coach in Austin.

My Training

I went to the University of North Texas and graduated from the College of Music, one of the most prestigious Colleges of Music in the country, with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education with a choral focus. As a result, I studied voice throughout my career and for my last two years at school it was with Richard Croft - a more famous Tenor currently on the opera scene. This training allows me great control over the resonance of my voice as well as an understanding of how the voice works. I believe this would serve me greatly in the voice over industry. I have also been in a number of musicals and plays.

My Studio Equipment

I record on a Shure Beta 87A using a tascam 122L interface contacted to a Macbook Air. I have Skype as well so patching in that way for live recording sessions is possible.

Additional Skills

I am a trained singer and my understanding of the voice will come in handy when working on projects that require using the voice in different ways. I have also received coaching from a professional voice over and radio talent, Renee Beale
