Voice Description
I have a smooth, baritone announcer voice. Narration and announcement is what I do best, but I can also do an upbeat and friendly conversational style. My voice is well-suited for educational and instructional narration. Although I don't have a lot of experience as an "actor", I'll take a crack at just about any 30-50 year old male character. I'm good with high-energy, high-pressure sales.

My Home Base
Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States
Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I can do a good upper midwest (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Dakotas) a la "Fargo". Living in Tennessee I've also picked up a decent "general" Southern accent when I need it. I can also turn that into an over-the-top redneck accent just for fun. I can do any high-energy "sales" character (think used car blowout), and have the ability to talk fast.
My Voice Experience
My professional experience has been primarily in the narrator/announcer genre in a variety of media including radio, TV and multimedia presentations.
I've done work for CBL properties as the location/tag-line voice in radio spots for more than 65 malls across the country. I've also done narration for corporate and instructional media.
I've been the "fast legal disclaimer voice" for "First Things First", a not-for-profit relationship counseling and education organization, in their radio spots.
In addition, I've lent my voice to several corporate phone systems.
My Training
All my voiceover training has been of the on-the-job variety, and those jobs have come mostly as a result of my position as an art director in the advertising industry. In that capacity I've utilized my own voice on many occasions as a cost-cutting measure for my poor, broke clients. But hey, why not get paid for it right?
I also sing (bass) in an acapella Gospel quartet, The Emmanuel Quartet, that travels all over the country and the world. Last summer I recorded a new album with the group, entitled "A New Day", and we recently returned from a two-week stint in the Philippines, where we sang for a series of evangelistic meetings.
My Studio Equipment
My home studio consists of a Rode NT1A condensor microphone running through an ART Tube MP USB Project Series pre-amp connected directly to my iMac. I record in a small soundproofed closet which effectively eliminates ambient noise.
For more comprehensive recording work I utilize a studio in Chattanooga called "Sound Resources". They have 20-plus years of experience and can handle anything I throw at them.
Additional Skills
As an advertising art director I have a unique perspective which helps me relate to the needs of "voice-seekers". I myself have been a seeker many times, so I'm intimately familiar with the frustrations and joys of the casting and production process. I've written many radio and television spots, and I know the elation of hearing exactly the right voice deliver exactly the right performance. I also know the pain of having the wrong voice for a project for which you had high hopes. My experience on both sides of the glass makes me particularly willing to go the extra mile to deliver what you hear in your head, and if it turns out I'm not the guy you need, I'll be the first to admit it.
