Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
Brit, Scottish, Irish, French Canadian, I've gotten away with Russian, German, and a slew of other accents... When it comes to the accent side of things, my rule is "ask, and I'll do it". My producers here tend to run to me with anything, if I can do it, I do. To put it into perspective, my producers once asked me to combine a New-Orleans Drawl with Bill Cosby...
Impression/Character wise, my voice falls under the same rules, varying from classic Casey Kasem long-distance dedications, ridiculous superheroes, leprechauns, geek/nerds, kermit the frog, ernie, scooby doo, shaggy, Stewie, Gollum, etc. Seriously. Ask, If I can, I will.
Hard-sell, soft-sell, monster truck, soothing, sexy, sultry, peppy, over-the-top,subdued,etc.
My Voice Experience
Current Capacity:
Radio Personality, who's done a TON of voiceover work across the country for straight-reads and character voices all over the map. Stations from across the country have used my voice for morning show bits, regular callers, produced holiday themes (St Patrick's day, my list gets insane)...
I have a studio at my disposal for quick recording of voice parts, and minor editing duties. (While I CAN produce commercials, promos, etc. I'd prefer to pursue the voicing side here.)
As a child:
Andrew(voice) Robert Munsch cartoon - "I gotta go'
The Teddy Bears' Christmas (TV movie)-Simon (voice) 1992
My Training
Radio Broadcasting - Algonquin College (Graduated 2004)
7 + Years of Radio Experience, voicing, producing,MCing, etc.
On top of that, I was also a vocalist (Lead in some cases, backup harmonies in other) in a few bands. I can play guitar and bass as well.
My Studio Equipment
The studios I have access to have Major-market Broadcast quality equipment.
AT4047 mics, Adobe Audition for editing, VoxPro for phoners, Pop Screens, acoustic paneling for sound-dampening...
Additional Skills
I run a service for college radio students, giving them feedback on their performance on air, and constructive tips to help them get into the career world a little easier.
Average turnaround on files can be as fast as an hour, 24 hours on a slow day (though weekends are a little bit tougher.)
