My Voice Experience
At University I wrote a number of adverts as part of course.
They included one for a coach company aimed at 18 to 35 years olds and chose to use the android character from RED DWARF. So as to catch the ear I started with "Why high there" (in his trade mark voice)and went on to explain the cheapest method of going from A 2 B, prices etc by coach and ended with a Carry On ineuendo of "We'll take you all way".
Another one was a remit for a mortgage company.
The remit was Professnalism, experience in the field, Quality and the best products and services.
For this I chose a light, soothing classical piece of music to show class, experience and quality. I used a light, calm American, accent to convey again experience, confidence and assurity.
My attemps were aired at the end of term conferance by my lecturers.
My Training
HND engineering (Audio, Video and Radio). Part of the course included the making of full 30 mins long per-recorded radio shows, including all ascpects show. These would include a live intro to the show, an itinery for the show, a live interveiw, per-recorded vox pop, the writing and recording of the 6 advertisments, all exactly 30 sec's long and a very local live news broadcast usually about the lecturers and students fou par's, then the comedy wheater report. These adverts had a per-determined demograffic (age group, witty etc) selected by the lecturer and marked on every aspect. The choice of a character to convey the message was the students choice.
The re-mit would go:
Coach travel aimed at the 18 to 35 age group from Manchester to London and price.
