My Voice Experience
I have alway been 'playing' with my voice and interested in doing voiceover work. I have various character and accents at my disposalmore than I know, they keep coming! I can usually replicate whatever I hear with some accuracy. My first voiceover was the "Galimoto", a children's book produced for Florida Schools. I was later to find that the production won a performance award for the Florida school systems)
I continued practicing on my own, working on storytelling and books-on-tape.
A few years later I began working with Sunspots Productions (NC, FL). It was slow at first, but gradually I began to do various kinds of jobs: narratives, guy-next-door, commercial, medical copy, accents. I was casts as a member of the cast of "The Lion King", portraying the role of Banzai, touring Western US, but still managed to find a studio to remotely record voiceover work for Sunspots.
I have done some dubbing for film: Mmpoplo in the HBO film Lumumba using a South Africa accent and re-doing my own voice (to make the film PG!) in "Unconditional Love"
The tour ended last year; I continue to to attend voiceover seminars (SAG school) and have an agent here in Austin.
My most recent VO here has been a book preview of "The World of Women", by Keith G Wright.
