Voice Description

My voice is very rich and warm for narrations, but also can change to a gritty sales-pitch radio voice. Since I was young I could do animated character voices and impersonations. I have a smooth low tenor/baritone voice that allows me to impersonate celebrities and characters such as Elvis, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Peter and Stewie Griffin, Roger the Alien yet I can stretch it to higher pitches such as Spongebob Squarepants and various female voices.As far as vocal quality, I can be brash and nasaly or smooth and relaxing, depending on the character needed.

My Voice Experience

As a musical theater actor/singer, I've always wanted to become a voice over talent since I was young. I remember doing vocal impersonations of Kermit the Frog, Ronald Reagan, and Howard Cosell at a very young age. By the time I was 13, my voice had developed so that I sounded very much like Elvis. From that moment on, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life: act, sing, and work as a voice over artist. Unfortunately, things did not work out the way I wanted, and although I performed in over 40 community theater shows since I was 19 and entertain as an Elvis tribute artist, I never got a chance to fufill the other part of my dream to work in voiceovers, especially with animation.
I am currently self-producing a podcast that gives me a chance to use my vocal talents, however, the recording program does give me a chance to "cheat" and change pitches and tone. Yes, to me that is cheating the system, but I do many voices on there regardless of the "tools".
Working with cartoons or animated films would be a dream come true. Hopefully, someone will give me a shot at making that a possibility.

My Training

Unfortunately, I have never attended a voiceover workshop or class, but would love to attend one. I have an Associates degree in General Education with a concentration in Foreign Language. I am returning to college next year to finish my degree in theater.
I have also worked as a radio dj from my community college for 2 years.

My Studio Equipment

I'm using a Mac Computer, with a GarageBand program. I'm also using a condenser mic as well.

Additional Skills

I taught Spanish for 2 years and worked as a substitute teacher for 1 year, so I know how to use a powerful, clear voice that is also very distinct.
