Voice Description
I have a rounded baritone voice, RP with a slight London lilt. I can speak with a smooth refined accent but my natural accent is home counties (so-called accentless English). I am able to apply very realistic regional and foreign accents if required.
My V/O career started when an agent's secretary let slip that she enjoyed ringing me up because "you give good voice" on the phone.
Since the agent decided I have "a face suited for radio" the path was set...

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I can apply regional and foreign accents, particularly European.
My German language work has a slight English accent which was useful when dubbing English TV into German and on German adverts for English companies.
I am particularly good at "seduction" advertising and "educated" documentaries.
I don't enjoy "silly voice" work and am not the right voice for high-pitched screaming vocals.
My Voice Experience
I have made voice-overs for various commercials, mainly in Germany where an English voice was required. I have also voiced German documentaries for the English market. In the UK I have voiced internet commercials from amusement parks to storage facilities.
I was often called upon to provide the translated "expert" voice in documentaries for German television. From the top, to the bottom...I have dubbed adult productions from German into English and survived!
I don't do student productions for free anymore and will only work for credits or on a deferred payment for a worthwhile cause or with experienced professionals on a realistic project.

My Studio Equipment
I am willing to travel but, due to previous experiences, all travel expenses have to be paid "up front". It doesn't have to be Club or Business class but not Ryanair!
At home I tend to record onto my Neumann TLM49 microphone since it suits my speaking voice. I also have a TLM193 for a "darker" voice (which my wife also uses for her V/Os) and various Sennheiser MKH mics for a brighter, clearer voice.
I record through an Audio Developments mixer into Audition. I can deliver in any format required.
Additional Skills
I have worked as a location sound recordist for film and television and trained at the National Film and Television School.
