My Voice Experience
For over 5 years I have produced a family friendly personal podcast featuring various styles of music, story telling and my thoughts about certain subjects.
I've also done work for other podcasters and internet radio in Holland. Mostly promos and station ID's.
I was the voice talent for a company training book for employees who were illiterate.
I read and recorded children's books for my grandkids and got requests from other parents to do the same.
My Training
Since I was a teenager I've been interested in radio. I was a weekend DJ for a short time for a local Gospel station. I produced and edited radio programs for former Louisiana State Senator, Bill Keith.
To be honest, I'm self taught. As a teen living in Atlanta, GA, in 1965-66, I heard the voice of Paul Drew, DJ and announcer at WQXI and sometimes called the 5th Beatle because he toured with them in the U.S tour. I spent hours trying to develop my voice and using his as my guide. I was determined to get rid of my Southern Arkansas Accent. You can take the boy out of the South but not the South out of the boy. So, I worked around it and somehow learned to develop a General American accent.
I've worked as a public speaker, MC, and performed other live work.
