Voice Description
Because my training is in news, I'm most comfortable with a professional sound. I'm not much into voice acting. Of course, I know how to accentuate a script. But,as a morning anchor, my delivery is more relaxed. I've done live sports and enjoy the energy it involves.

My Voice Experience
From the first time I switched on a mic at my high school radio station--to announce a song--and forgot to turn the darn thing off in my nervous exhileration, I've been hooked on broadcasting. That was back in 1983 and have been doing it ever since. Starting with Disc Jockey work, I progressed into radio sportscasting and then, following college, I moved into news. I've been an anchor full-time since 1990. Most of my career has been on morning shows, but I have also hosted a couple of monthly 30 minute outdoor shows in Idaho (Exploring Idaho and Incredible Idaho). I spent most of my career as a general assignment reporter, but now strictly anchor and re-voice medical packages. I also did the voice over for a training video for a company called pro paint.
My Training
What can I say....it's my job, and has been for more than 20 years. I've worked with numerous talent coaches over the years who've tutored me and helped me tweak my delivery to keep it conversational and comfortable.

Additional Skills
My training in Journalism and time at professional tv stations has given me a clear understanding of what most companies want and expect in their voice over talent. I understand how important it is to get names and regional dialects correct. I've had my own name mispronounced in a voice over so I realize what's at stake.
