Voice Description
My voice style is best represented as a casual, confident voice of assurance & understated authority. The resonant quality of warm, relaxed & soothing self-assurance can otherwise be described as the quintessential 'radio announcer' voice.

French Canadian, English uppercrust, Cockney, Newfoundland/East Coast, Jamaican/Caribbean, Germanic, Russian/Eastern European, Homosexual/ Flamboyant 'Gay Blade', Scottish/Irish, Southern U.S.
In general, I've a good ear for accents/dialects & a predisposition to mimicry - I can hear a language/dialect or voice-type and often duplicate or replicate in whole or part.
My Voice Experience
I currently am under contract to a client ( Q9 Networks ) in Canada that broadcasts radio commercials in the Toronto & Calgary market and I have been 'the voice of Q9 Networks' for the past 3 1/2 years where I have recorded approximately 20 spots.
I have also done a radio commercial for a real estate development company called Muskoka Bay (Freed Developments) that aired in the Southern Ontario market.
Further, I've attended many auditions for various Radio & Television commercials over the last 3 years, but being a 'non-union' voice talent has limited my exposure somewhat.
My Training
As a former Advertising Agency executive and working 'behind the camera' in Television commercials, TV shows & movies as a 'child wrangler' for the last 15 years, I've had many & varied exposures to the performing arts, music and media production world.
In addition, my wife is & has been an Advertising Agency Broadcast Producer for the last 20+ years and therefore I've been exposed to & am conversant with myriad forms and styles of media production.
I've been fortunate enough to have travelled extensively all over the world, both as a younger person (having lived in Europe when I was a teenager) and as a working professional in my 20's/30's so that I've gleaned an understanding /aptitude of various rhythms & cadence of speech. Over the last 20 years, I've been a 'stay-at-home' Dad to 2 children & have been involved extensively in their education doing volunteer work at schools teaching, coaching & tutoring children of all ages & backgrounds which has allowed me to look at the world from many and varied perspectives.
Academically, I attended high school in Switzerland & Ottawa, university at Queen's in Kingston and took certificate courses in Advertising/Marketing and presentation skills when I was employed in the Advertising industry. In later life I've taken courses in teaching English as a second language, International Wine Education Guild and Writing Books for Children & Young Adults.
My Studio Equipment
I have no studio equipment or knowledge of audio engineering other than being in recording studios in front of the microphone.
Additional Skills
Please see the section above, listed as education & training. Suffice it to say that given the life I've lead and the various 'professional incarnations' that I have had, including running my own Import/Export business from Southeast Asia and working as a wine consultant at the LCBO, I may be considered by some to be somewhat of a modern
'renaissance man', with talents and capabilities which range from the eclectic to the bizarre. I'm intelligent, inventive, energetic, engaging & entertaining with a genuine curiosity & interest in people, learning and new experiences.
