My Voice Experience

I have been using my voice to earn a living for many years in broadcasting. My employers have been radio and television stations, advertising agencies, voiceover agencies, video production companies and businesses who need phone greetings and on hold messages.

My Training

I am a graduate of Brown Institute of Broadcasting where I recieved my fist instruction in voice work. There we were required to record ourselves reading aloud an hour a day. That was 28 years ago and it is still very valuable. Practice makes perfect. My other learning has been by DOING it...countless radio and television commercials...everyday for all these many years. I work until I satisfy the client everytime! Being a good reader has also made me a good writer. I specialize in writing commercials that listeners can relate to...they get people's attention and get results for the advertisers. I am also a singer in a Barbershop Chorus and I'm trying to learn Spanish!

Additional Skills

Skills aquired through my extensive broadcasting career include the use of production and editing equipment. Many people know how to use these things but not everyone knows how much or how little to use them. When sound effects are helpfull, when they're too much or distracting. When the music is too loud, or when it just doesn't fit the project. Another skill I'm proud of is being able to effectively WORK WITH PEOPLE! I can coach or direct other people when I'm recording them...and more importantly I can take coaching or direction from others very well. Voice work is really all acting...and good actors can take direction and deliver what a client or director wants!
