I'm hired often for my British accent, and although I am not a UK native, provide a crisp, clear and completely understandable narration. I have lived in the Southern U.S. since 1982 and also do an admirable southern accent.

My Voice Experience

Robin Rowan has been a voice talent since the days of splicing reel-to-reel tape with a razor blade! As a former radio d.j. in Wisconsin and Florida, she wasn't crazy about the on-air aspect of the job, but loved the production end of it, and has kept her hand in it for more than 3 decades. Robin's voiceovers and narration for radio, TV and film include the IMAX Theatre narration at the National Museum of Naval Aviation and a nationally-syndicated home improvement show, "Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford," both for more than a dozen years. She has voiced national spots for Mrs. Smith's pies, Delta Faucets, Columbia Hospitals, Showtime and DiGiorno Pizza.

She broke into audio books in 2009 and has narrated a dozen titles for Audible.com, Harper Audio, Novel Voices Press and others. Documentary credits include Oxfam, the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), Art and Coin TV and PBS.

Robin has B.A. in Speech (emphasis in the Oral Interpretation of Literature) from the University of Wisconsin, where she competed on the Forensics team in oral interpretation. She especially enjoys the storytelling aspect of long-format voiceover narration. Robin has been self-employed as a travel writer and voiceover artist since 1988, but since building a studio in 2001, her work is now devoted 100% to voiceovers.

Contributing writer to several Frommer's travel guides; co-authored 2 Insiders' Guides and collaborated with a photographer on a coffee table book on Florida's Northwest; wrote numerous articles on Florida for magazines including Florida Trend, Modern Bride, Atlantic Southeast (in-flight) and Destination Florida (Miami Herald's online travel magazine)

Public speaker, environmental activist, travel writer specializing in eco-tourism, league tennis player, and clarinetist in the local community band. Co-authored coffee table book entitled "Florida's Northwest: First Places, Wild Places, Favorite Places" with local photographer. I also have a business called "Greetings from Scraps," where I print images from vintage ephemera (postcards, fruit crate labels, decals, luggage labels, etc.) onto self-mailer note cards and sell them in themed packs (mostly tacky Florida). I am an avid collector of Florida kitsch, so imagine what my house looks like!
