Most of my voice work has been through commercials at radio stations (Magic 106.1, 1460 CJOY, and 106.1 the Goat) I have worked for in my professional radio career as a news announcer.
Hard sells and soft sells have been the norm, but I have had the opportunity to do a number of accents, characters, and cartoon voices.
My voice is also suited to narration for such things as nature documentaries, instructional videos, and more.
As a child, I had always wanted to provide the voices for all of my favorite cartoons but never really knew how to go about doing it.
For most of my adult life I had worked in the restaurant industry but after moving to Toronto in 1997 I found new opportunities to explore my creative side. I began by enlisting in the Second City training workshops. I completed all of the levels and formed a troupe with some of my classmates. Most of my characters were built around different voices.
In 2003, I enrolled in the Freelance Announcing 1 course at Humber College in Toronto and took Freelance Announcing 2 in 2004.
In 2005, I decided to pursue a career in radio. I applied and auditioned for Humber College's Radio Diploma program and was accepted. In the second year, I chose the news pathway as my career path. I graduated at the top of my class and received several awards for my performance over my two years at the school.
Just before graduating, I was hired by CORUS to work as an afternoon/weekend news announcer at Magic 106.1 and 1460 CJOY in Guelph, ON.
In November 2010 I moved to Lloydminster, AB to work for 106.1 the Goat as news director.
Since working in radio I have recorded hundreds of commercials.

I have a good work ethic. I believe in doing the job to the best of my abilities.
My career as a news announcer has provided me with the ability to deliver the message and feeling of a story in a professional, authoritative and easily understood manner.
My background in improvisation has provided with a sense of comedic timing and the understanding of how to entertain a listener's ear.
Together, I combine the technical abilities of a news reader and the empathy and fun of an improviser to my voice work.
