My voice presentations have developed into a wide variety of styles over the years. I can deliver documentary-style narrations in either a sober, concerned manner or a lighter, bemused style. Through my radio journalism experience, I have also developed a style that can vary from crisp, professional and urgent to the more casual style of feature stories. Through my radio drama experience, I have also developed a strong capacity for "character" voices.

My Voice Experience

I have been providing a wide variety of voice talent for 35 years. Experience includes several years as reporter/producer for NPR stations in the Kansas/Missouri area, documentary voice-over narration for documentaries in Kansas and New York, commercial spot production, and CD-ROM presentations. My voice is also credited in two feature films, both by filmmaker Kevin Willmott--"Ninth Street" and "CSA: Confederate States of America." I am listed on the Internet Movie database as "Robert Sokol (II).

My Training

My early training came through a BA degree in Radio/TV/Theatre from the University of Missour-Kansas City, where I was trained in both newscasting and dramatic voice work. I am currently finishing a Ph.D. in Film at the University of Kansas, where my production specialty includes sound recording and audio post-production for film
