Voice Description

I have a very deep voice, but also have quite a bit of range. I have been doing character voices since the early 1990s and spent a little bit of time doing voices for the Hot 97.7 morning show as an intern.

I can do a wide variation of feelings, smooth, dramatic, to plain old silly.

I owe most of my professional pronunciation to my background in Sales and Customer Service.

In addition to that, a lot of my accent impersonations come from my years of working directly with a lot of different nationalities in the Bay Area. (California)

My Voice Experience

In high school, I did a lot of beatboxing for rappers and would usually be the person to introduce rap acts to the stage using one of my many voices.
I also did a lot of rap production in a professional studio through Jardin Productions in the San Jose, California.

I made a lot of side money in junior college, doing voices for people's answering machines.

My studio experience started right after highschool.
I was an intern at Hot 97.7 Radio station and a friend of mine, who was a dj for the radio station knew I did a slew of voices and started using them on his mix show.
(Early 1990s in California)
I would do name drops using a number of impersonations.

The guys in charge of the morning show heard this and hired me to do voices for their morning show comedy routines, where I would be an old man, or any other ridiculous voice they needed to make the bit work.

Over the years, I've worked done the occassional voiceover job via word-of-mouth, for people I've worked for in the past. (Mostly magicians in California).
Taped stage show introductions, and short video voiceovers that I tape on my own computer, edit and send to the recipient via online tranfer.
I've often considered making a career of voiceover work, as I really love the opportunity to be creative.

As the multimedia person for my current company, I have now been given carte' blanche to do voiceover work on any video production we put together.

My Training

I have a degree in Computer Aided design, which is where I learned to tape and edit my own audio digitally.

In addition to that, my experience goes back to working live, on stage with rappers, DJs and in the taping studio at the Radio station, and in a professional studio as a rapper, beatbox and voiceover personality.

I've had over a decade of voice control training as I spent 1989 through 2003 working in Customer Service and Sales, working with clients over the phone.

Most clients would say "you sound a lot different then you look".

I believe the true strength in my voice comes from decades of BeatBox practice.

Creating music with your mouth and lungs, strengthens your diaphram and helped boost my voice strength and range immensely.

As a multimedia expert, I enjoy working with video and images, and spend lots of time studying the timing and placement of all things related to packaging video and audio together to make an impact.

My Studio Equipment

I do not own a professional audio studio, but tape most of my audio on my computer and make my edits post-production.

Additional Skills

With my background in customer service, I tend to blend well with any team, whether I'm needed a lot, or a little.

No job is too large or too small, because I'll make the job fun.
