Robert Mark began his broadcasting career with KHAR-AM in Anchorage, Alaska in 1978. "A Feast for the Chieftain" was a program of Irish music, folklore and drama that he produced and hosted that aired on KSKA-FM Public Radio from 1978 - 1981. O'Brien recruited fellow disc jockeys with whom he worked with in commercial radio to appear in original drama and readings of Irish folktales.
Hockey play x play announcing, disc jockeying, copywriting and commercial production are skills he developed and fine tuned in AM/FM radio.
Mr. O’Brien recently created “The Celtic Salmon” an internet radio station on LIve 365 that airs an eclectic mix of music that soothes the soul and feeds the creative spirit.
"In 1978, while working the graveyard shift at the top-rated AM/FM station. Some copy for DOVE soap appeared in my "in" box.
The spot played in the drive time rotation and a few weeks later, the General Manager found out the I voiced it. He assumed it came from an ad agency in Chicago!"
