My Voice Experience

Have written and recorded promos for the El Paso Community College Theater Department. Have cohosted and emceed the 2009 interview and resume workshops for the Student Communication action Network (SCAN), a student organization providing practical skills and professional training to students and the community at large. Served as judge for the college-sponnsored speech tournament in 2010 as part of duties as a faculty member.

My Training

M.A. in organizational communications and public relations, B.S. in human resources management, 34 years experience as a musician (french horn, band, orchestra and choir). I have been a featured on-stage performer in the musical Gypsy. Have performed as a musician in the musicals Cinderella and The Pirates of Penzance. Have played in the orchestra for the operas Marriage of Figarro and La Traviata.

Worked at the Seguin Gazette in Seguin, TX as an advertising intern. I wrote/designed ads and sold spots for the Advertising Cartoon Map. Grossed over 26K over course of internship (10 weeks).

I study voiceover/marketing techniques with Susan Berkley, Pat Fraley and Bill DeWees.

My Studio Equipment

I have access to a professional studio with phone patch, ISDN and full pre and post production services. They provide full video and audio production with print to tape for broadcast and archiving, encoding for web or DVD, digital file conversions and media duplication.

Additional Skills

I hold a B.S. in human resources management and have worked in print advertising. I understand project management, accounting, sales, advertising and promotions. I understand staffing a project with the right people for optimal performance.

I am a certified early childhood and elementary education (PreK-5) teacher. I taught at the elementary level for seven years. I taught introductory speech and business and professional speech courses at the community college level for five years. I have taught in both the classroom and distance learning environments at the collegiate level. I know how to use the right approach for various audiences.
