British, southern hillbilly, aristocrat,Irish, Scottish, Slavic, French, German. With all of the accents and dialects I can perform, I can be zany, soft, harsh, simple or just plain effective. You name the context and I will give you the voice.

My Voice Experience

I began my career in 1984 as a mobile music disc jockey. A freind heard my voice and my Wolfman Jack impression and asked me to perform a couple of sets on stage with his DJ show. I got instant applause and my part time career began. I did DJ work for 13 years every weekend and honed my skills along the way. I would listen to radio jocks, evening news anchors, anyone who offered a different voice type or way of doing things. Everyone I listened too had something new to offer and gave me bigger and better ideas on how to communicate to an audience and keep them in my grasp. As I matured and my day career became more complex, I began to do presentations for companies I worked for and volunteer organizations I worked with. I did everything from being a trainer, to Master of Ceremonies, presentations and even provided the voice for my company's radio commercial. I entered a contest called "talk idol" with a local radio station and out of 400 applicants I was chosen in the top 20. Although I never won the competition, one of the announcers said I had a "million dollar voice".
After that I thought there was only one thing to do and that was to make a demo disc and begin searching for opportunities.

My Training

I have never had any formal training in the voice over industry. Anything I have ever done has been self tought and from paying attention to professionals in the industry. I have a musical background and used to play saxaphone and sang in some garage bands, but my primary education has been on the job playing music for people and being their entertainment voice.
I have entertained doing some stand up at parties and learned to be an instructor and doing presentations in the corporate world.
The world has been my teacher and I'm looking for more opportunities.

My Studio Equipment

My demo disc was recorded by a young man that I used to coach hockey. He has a recording studio that he build with his father's help in his garage.
I do have access to recording studios in my region.
My engineering skills are limited but I have an ear for what sounds right.

I am dedicated to whatever undertaking I commit to. I have only been employed with 2 companies in 25 years which I beleive shows my dedication and loyalty to those I work for. The 13 years that I worked part time was for one company and I never missed one show.
I have worked as a laborer, front line manager, trainer, business executive, marketing and advertising manager, and of course as a mobile music DJ. Working as a blue collar and white collar employee as well as an entertainer has allowed me to learn to communicate with all walks of life and blend into any situation. My freinds call me the chamelion because no matter who I relate to or where I go, I always find a way to fit in. Isn't that what voice work is all about? Relating to a specific audience? If I am not mistaken, it is...and the guy to do it is me.
