Much of my adult life has been spent learning to communicate well with all kinds of people in many different situations. I am professional and dependable. I care about the other person. I listen. I enjoy working alone or in collaboration to create and deliver a message that connects with the listener and evokes a response.
I read music well. I can create melodies, and construct harmonies and accompaniments. I play trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, piano, and violin.
Education in civil/structural engineering (BSCE Georgia Institute of Technology) with related work experience in design of steel and concrete structures, principal of successful general contracting company building residential and light commercial projects, and forensic investigations of building and component failures. I enjoy talking about scientific and engineering phenomena and making it understandable to those with less technical backgrounds.
Education in business (MBA Georgia State University) with related work experience as commissioned sales representative in computers system sales. As with engineering and scientific material, I enjoy talking about business, financial, and organizational concepts, presenting them clearly and making them understandable.
I have held leadership positions in several not-for-profit community groups including: the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, Christ the King Lutheran Church, the Holly Theatre, the Lanier Chamber Singers, and the Sounds of Sawnee Community Band.
My life has been filled with singing in religious and secular ensembles, including numerous solo performances. My theater experience includes numerous dramatic and musical theater productions in ensemble, cast, and lead roles: Horace Vandergelder (Hello Dolly, Holly Theatre), Henry Higgins (My Fair Lady, Holly Theatre), Cogsworth (Beauty and the Beast, Black Bear Dinner Theatre), Theseus (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Holly Theatre), Clifton Feddington (1940s Radio Hour, Holly Theatre), Annibale (The Gondoliers, Brenau University), Ewart Dunlap (The Music Man, Holly Theatre), Charlie Davenport (Annie Get Your Gun, Holly Theatre).
