Voice Description

A middle-England accent with a touch of continental.
Grew up in Plymouth, England...2 years travelling the world..then home counties (that's outer London for most) for 43 years..then Paris for 12...then Croatia for 6..means accent-wise it English but with little regional twang. As a fluent (almost native lebvel)French speaker means I can handle strange place names and complex combinations. Fun, friendly, yet formal if need be a la John Cleese without too much BBC! The range is young sporty dynamic (top 40 jingles) through to formal yet distinctive corporate messaging.

My Voice Experience

after arriving in Croatia and hearing some painful "english" voiceovers on national radio.. I openly offered my services free of charge to avoid further embarassment. Open Radio (the country's top music radio) accepted and I recorded a string of jingles. 6mths later I opened my own business (consumer care) but decided to build a sound-cabin on the premises to continue what had become a "hobby". Slowly but surely the hobby became a revenue generator and as the local market got wind of my aavailability the opportunities became more frequent.

To date I've recorded TV and radio ads, IVR flows, corporate presentations, online help audio-guides etc for the following companies:

Kenwood Europe, T-Mobile Croatia, RTL, Zagrebacka Pivovara, Zagrebacka Banka, Telegra, VIP, Agrokor etc

My Training

I have no formal education in this area. However, I hold a Marine Radio General Certificate (the qualification previously required for Radio Officers in the merchant navy) as well as a Class A Radio Amateur License. Both the above were obatined at the age of 18 and allowed me to practise voice skills on the air with thousands of other operators. Ask any "ham" about the signal quality of Europe's top stations Tango Mike 5 Charlie or Echo Seven Delta X-Ray.. I'm often behind the mike :-)

The above is all about 2 way radio..which means I'm very attentive to detail on all my recordings. It must be perfect!

As owner of a contact centre providing consumer care to end-users on all 5 continents, I'm also experienced in optimizing marketing messages as well as designing IVR flows.
