Voice Description
When speaking naturally, I have a neutral British accent with Bassy Tones. However, due to spending many years abroad amongst different cultures I have picked up a number of foreign accents and maleable characteristics. This has been useful for Adverts, Audio statements, audio children's books and radio plays.

My Voice Experience
In 1996, I was a DJ/ Presenter on Radio Phoenix, Lusaka (Zambia) for 9 months, hosting a twice weekly slot from 6pm - 9pm. in that time I also recorded adverts for the radio station and presented various variety programmes.
While at University in the UK, I wrote, edited and produced a number of faux-adverts, radio plays (with live audience and Live Music Interludes) as well as Singing.
Following that I spent 14 months as an Audio Transcription Artist, recording voiceovers and audio statements for MPH Accesible Media Ltd in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.
My Training
I refined my day to day speech while studying Voice on Performance BA (Hons) at Northumbria University, where I also learned where to speak from and how to monitor and utilise voice and speech to its optimum.
As for learning how to voiceover, this is something I've continued to develop since my first recording in 1993 (a Hip-hop record with skits and sketches)

Additional Skills
I have a durable voice with a 3 octave singing range. I am also a proficient Beatboxer (Drums with your Mouth), using vocal scratches, vocal sound effects and caricatures if it suits a song or is called upon. I have also been consulted by local musicians on voice lessons to optimise vocal performance and enhance range diversity.
My Voice and Speech Discipline is through the Arthur Lessac method, as taught by Katerina Moraitis (now of Central School of Speech and Drama), which I look to work on for at least 5 hours a week, as and when possible.
