Voice Description

I am told constantly that I have a "radio voice". Having been in medicine and nursing for 20 years now, I have had the chance to use my vocal skills to educate, lecture to, and instruct countless thousands of clients. Now has come the time for me to launch to the next level. I was blessed with a rich baritone and yet, have the fluidity to vary that from a deep operatic bass, to a crisp falsetto. I can vary the character and subtleties of my voice, to suit the situation: Warm and soothing, deep and foreboding, as well as manic and intense, even infantile. I discovered this range as a child, and have played with it ever since.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

Accents are a special favorite of mine. I enjoy hearing a different dialect, and I endeavor to reproduce them with as much integrity as one can do, without being naturally predisposed to the accent.

Accents I am comfortable and proficient with:

"New York Italian" (Fuggeddaboutit),Long Island ("Lawn-Guyland"), Southern Drawl, Californian "Valley Dude", North Dakotan "Fargo" Midwesterner, Nondescript Generic Accent Free "American". Foreign accents include "Snooty British Upper Crust", Irish Leprechaun, Stereotypical Arrogant "Disgruntled French Parisienne", White South African Male, Russian, German, Japanese, Delhi Indian, Jewish Rabbi (Mel Brooks style).

Other accents will take just a few minutes, in most cases, for me to formulate a reasonable emulation of the dialect.

My Voice Experience

While I have no direct voice over experience, I have been honored to work with some of New York's best musicians as drummer and back up singer for Energy Express which requires me to vary my singing voice from bass to falsetto, across various genres and tempos, as well as varying from male to female backups. My lead vocalists and I have worked very hard to blend complex three and four part harmonies into our repetoire, and it is my job as backup vocalist, to mesh nearly invisibly with male and female vocalists, to provide the "Musical Illusion" that you are hearing the original recording by the original artist.

My Training

I have a Master's Degree in Nursing, and have worked for 20 years in the nursing and medical profession, presently working as a Nurse Practitioner in private practice.

In addition, I have 30 years of experience as a drummer, and persussionist, as well as 15 years of lead and backing vocal experience. Musical theater experience in high school, with productions of "45 Minutes from Broadway", "Godspell", "Damn Yankees", and others.

My Studio Equipment

Under construction, but will soon have capability for complete voice production from home studio.

Additional Skills

My interests are wide and varied, however, one area I would like to explore more of, would be Medical Documentary, Continuing Medical Education, and Scientific Voice Overs, Technical Voice overs.
