My Voice Experience

RADIO! Most of my experience with voice over work has been reading poetry, anecdotes, and Scripture for a national and international station The Rejoice Broadcast Network [RBN]. I've also been used in a number of THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS and in PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS. These experiences all took place in Pensacola Florida for Pensacola Christian College.

My Training

Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications
Master of Education in Speech Education
Master of Education in Storytelling and Reading Arts

While earning these degrees I took classes in storytelling, oral communication of poetry, oral communication of dramatic and narrative literature, voice and diction classes, linguistics, group interpretation, acting, advanced acting, a radio communication course, choir, private speech lessons on the undergraduate and graduate levels, public speaking.

I've performed three public speech/drama recitals.

I've been video-taped teaching a one-semester speech course on the high school level.

My experience includes 23 years of teaching speech and drama and directing or performing in many many productions.

My Studio Equipment

I'd prefer to be recorded at a studio near my home.

I do, of course, know how to transfer audio files and have desktop computer that can handle larger files.

The equipment I'm currently using is
AudioboxUSB Mixer
CAD GXL2200 Cardioid Condenser Mic
Audacity Software

Additional Skills

My biggest challenge in voice over work has been learning the differences between using my voice for the stage and using it for the studio. I've spent the past 12 years understanding the differences and mastering them. I can easily switch from stage to studio and back again.

Part of my job as a teacher was to train broadcasting students in the course "Voice and Diction for Broadcasters". In the course I taught students how to use the correct tone as well as how to blend their phrases for easy audience understanding realizing they have only one channel of communication, THEIR VOICE!
