My Voice Experience

I was bitten by the voice over bug in college. All my life I'd always been told that I had a very pleasant and clear speaking voice. I was often selected for various narrations in school plays and assemblies. I also always enjoyed imitating various accents and characters on TV shows and cartoons, often with uncanny accuracy. When I worked in retail to put myself through college, my managers often asked me to make overhead pages because of my reputation for speaking well. Once I began the Mass Communications coursework at the University of South Florida, I had many teachers tell me that I had a nice voice and should capitalize on it. At that point I figured I could only use my talent for journalism, which didn't appeal to my fun, creative nature. But it was during the voice over recording of my final senior news project - where my voice was chosen by WFLA-TV over other classmates' to be on air - where my professor remarked on my pleasant voice and said I should get into voice overs. We talked about it for a bit and I came to realize just how many applications to which I could put my voice. It would be a few years before I began the process of training, recording a demo and getting myself out there in the industry, but I'm just as excited about my career as ever. I look forward to all new experiences and using my creative talents to make your project the best that it can be.

-Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications from the University of South Florida.
-Stage acting and choir singing experience.

-Samson C03U USB mic using Garage Band, Cakewalk and Final Cut Express programs for
recording and editing.
-Mic mounted to Samson SP01 shock mount with pop filter.
-Home recording area with fabric padding to deaden already minimal ambient noise.
