My Voice Experience

I completed my voiceover demo in 2008 with Creative Voice Development Group, but my experience truly began when I discovered I loved to act as a child, auditioning and getting parts in local community playhouses.

I was often told I had a smooth, articulate, "radio-friendly" voice - I decided to put that to use in high school and college, where I started volunteering as a college radio DJ with WMUL-FM 88.1 at Marshall University (Huntington, WV) from 1991-1993.

Over the years between 1993-2003 I also got to experience speaking in an educational/instructional setting, having taught several classes in undergraduate and graduate school. In 2002 I provided voiceovers for a web-based mathematics course at Marshall University; although this was a graduate assistantship position it was an excellent opportunity to revisit the microphone!

Additional Skills

Aside from my creative skills in voice acting and broadcasting, I write, produce, and record music; I play piano, guitar, bass (and a little bit of drums), and have been a keyboard player for over 25 years.

On the professional side, I am a software quality engineer with a strong background in systems architecture and design. Additionally I work in the biotechnology industry and have a scientific/technical vocabulary that is perfect for medical, engineering, instructional, and technical narration opportunities.

On a more general note, I have an ear to the ground in terms of current pop culture/trend sensibility in certain areas such as music, technology, dining/entertainment and clothing styles, which enables me to understand different markets and audiences. With this awareness, everyday life becomes an inspiration for new voice styles, characters, and impersonations.

I'm an avid runner and sports fan (especially college sports), and I enjoy making the occasional mess in the kitchen on a quest to make relatively healthy versions of decadent foods.

I currently reside between NYC and Philadelphia, PA - this makes me accessible to a variety of markets.
