My Voice Experience
Most recently I have been working in the health care industry. I love helping people but miss the creative outlet and using my voice!
1993 - 2003
Worked in a variety of roles for event production companies in San Francisco for large corporate events. As a "walking character" I acted as a mob delivery system to direct the event attendees toward different areas, often while on rollerskates or stilts, wearing huge dragonfly wings. They always said they heard my voice first. I can project! Also performed as spokesperson, greeter, and Master of Ceremonies.
Performed in a variety of bands as lead vocal, back up vocal, and improvisational voice instrumental groups.
1991 - 1993
DJ'd and created "Plastic Radgirl" a weekly radio show for WPRK, Winter Park, FL. My persona was a young woman discovering the roots of musical styles and tracing women in music through out time.
1989 - 1991
Produced and created "Storytime" Aired twice weekly on WSRC, Great Barrington, MA -I read one chapter each show and led campus discussions on the book. Books included Moby Dick, Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and more.
1986 - 1989
Wrote and performed Lincoln-Douglas debate cases. I enjoyed this but really excelled in the Prose/Poetry area. Highlight: Winner CFL Nationals 1989 for The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes
1980 - 1986
Singing Boys and Girls of Orlando - lexclusive performing chorus with rigorous auditions and training. Resident young person's choir of Walt Disney World. Highlight: performing for Michael Jackson as an 8 year old. I waved and he waved back!
My Training
Most of my voice training has been geared towards singing. Church choirs, solo training with a voice coach and my radio audience were my teachers.
I am interested in learning more, especially toward characterization.
