Voice Description
My voice lends itself to lively commercials and promos, especially ones that are happy and upbeat. It also works well reading the news, weather, sports, and even obituaries. I can also do character voicing with quasi-British accent, as well as "redneck" southern, and an "Old South" sound...like a rich plantation owner. My voice is warm and has a nice, listenable sound to it, which works well for reading news features, documentary voice-over, and public service announcements.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I am able to perform a quasi-British characture accent, kind of like the old, stereotypical Scotland Yard detective. I can also pull-off jail-house dialect and slang, as well as southern redneck. One of my favorites is an "old-south" drawl, kind of like an old plantation owner. I can also perform a Texas drawl...y'all, complete with the "yes ma'ams" and the "fixin'" to do everything way of saying things.
My Voice Experience
My voice over experience involves my work with the local radio station where I live, WBYS-AM1560 and WCDD-107.9FM. I have done numerous commercials and PSAs, as well as extended feature stories. Along with these responsibilities...I do the news, weather, sports, and yes...even the obituaries, on the weekends on the AM station. I have written and produced a number of the above mentioned commercials, including one in particular that required more than 10 layers of material...for one :30 second spot. I am very active with our local community theater group, the Fulton County Playhouse, using my voice skills on-stage and off, doing the pre-show announcement voice-over duties.
My Training
Most of my voice-over training has been on-the-job. I started a broadcasting course offered through the Columbia School of Broadcasting a few years ago, but had to drop it due to financial difficulties. I DO have several hours of college instruction in theater, which includes using the voice in numerous ways. My theatrical experience includes appearing in more than 28 productions comedy, drama, and musical...not counting high-school. The various roles I have played have given me the opportunity to work with a number of dialects and accents, as well as different directors.
My Studio Equipment
As of this time, my personal equipment is limited, but I DO have access to the radio station equipment to do my production work. I would like to put together a home studio in the near future, at which time I will list my equipment here.
The equipment at the station at my disposal includes:
- Compaq computer for production work
- Adobe Audition software for sound editing
-Electrovoice EV-???micorphones
-Koss Studio-Pro Headphones
-?????studio mixer
-????mic conditioner
- COMPLETE set of music bed CDs
- Extensive SFX library
Additional Skills
In my life, I have been able to do a great number of things, from serving in the US Army, to driving race cars, to being a country singer, to being a correctional officer, to radio DJ, customer service rep, car cleaner, warehouse worker, to vacuum cleaner salesman, (not in that order), and one of the most important things I have learned from all of these experiences in relation to voice-over work, is that it is vitally important to pay attention to and LISTEN to everyone and everything around you. I have used things I've heard people say in my work, and more importantly, HOW they say it. No two people say things exactly the same. The key is to listen to those two people to understand the difference.
