intellectual, versatile, and captivating
My voice has a distinctive personality, but is flexible for enough for many different projects. I have done children's stories, performing character voices ranging from a flighty little deer to a wizened old bear. I've done somber and authoritative for training narratives and scholarly and measured for instructional pieces. I can do upbeat and fun if the project dictates, but my deeper voice generally is more suited to assignments which require a certain amount of gravitas.

My Voice Experience
I've always been told that this was something I should do...I started out recording Russian fairy tales, independently with my brother, as something for my daughter to listen to. When they sounded not half bad, mentioned to my job with the FDNY that I might be able help them with some of the voice-over work they needed done. Before long I was narrating training videos and informational releases for the New York City Fire Department. While this was a great learning experience, I thought back to how much I enjoyed making those recordings for my daughter and realized that there would probably not ever be much call for that where I was working. So, here I am...
I took one workshop at the School of Visual Arts here in NYC, where I was told I seemed very comfortable inside the booth. That comfort level in front of a microphone comes in large part to the fact I was the singer in a punk band in my twenties and know my way around a recording studio a bit.
