Voice Description

I have a mature, deep voice but can, and have lightened it for various types of voiceovers. I have done everything from straight narrations, commercials, dramatic presentations to on-hold messaging. I can give you most any type of read you wish in either English or Spanish. I was raised bilingual. In normal Spanish conversation, I have an Argentine accent, but use "broadcast/neutral Spanish" for most voiceovers unless a specific accent is required. In English, I have a standard non-regional accent.

My Voice Experience

I have over 25 years experience in voiceover work in both English and Spanish. We have our own translation agency and studio.
Some of my most recent work has been with Wachovia Bank, Bank of America, Hendrick Motor Sports, NAPA, John Deere, National Gypsum, Coca Cola, Tommy Nelson Publishing, Duke Energy, Walmart, Home Depot, Aramark, Cendant Corp.
We specialize in translating scripts from English to Spanish and synching them to the English video.
Approximately 60 percent of my work would fall into the category of industrial videos. The remainder would be commercials and on-hold messaging.
Currently I am a weekly regular at Muzak Corporation where I do a wide variety of on-hold messaging. I am the Spanish voice of Wachovia's on-line telephone banking and Duke Energy's Radio and TV commercials in Spanish.

My Training

I have worked in radio (English), both am and fm and have an undergraduate degree in theater and Spanish. I have a Ph.D in Spanish linguistics and literature. Over the past 25 years I have remained active in local theater productions. This experience has enabled me to offer my clients a wide variety of interpretations...dramatic, conversational and the more traditional delivery. Additionally, I have served as language consultant on numerous bilingual video projects.

My Studio Equipment

I use ProTools as my audio editing software. I have a number of mics (AKG, Studio Projects C3 and depending on results required, a Neumann U87)

Additional Skills

In addition to being totally bilingual, I have translated many video scripts and commercials to Spanish. Our company has the ability to make the translation sound as if it were written originally in Spanish and not a literal translation. Depending on the nature of the product or service, a Spanish script can be anywhere from 15 to 20% longer than the original English. Over the years we have honed our skills so that the translation fits the English edit without sounding rushed.
