My Voice Experience

I was a bartender at the Samurai Sake House in Oklahoma City while in college in 1990. This club offered live music 7 days a week. Before the band would start for the night and after breaks, I would announce the daily and weekly specials, as well as any special event or talent that was coming up. Then I would announce the band. This was all done off the cuff with just a list of things I needed to mention. I started adding little trivia items pertaining to the date in history. (Today is December 7th 1991. Fifty years ago the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. Now we're getting bombed with the Japanese.)We would often have the KATT radio station do live remotes from the club or one of the DJ's would come by and hand out promotional items. Greg Zoobeck told me one night that I should be a DJ because I had a great voice. I was in college studying vocal music performance so I never pursued it.
