Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I can add an international flare with my East Indian and British accents. Then I can bring you down home to the American south with my deep-fried southern accent.
My Voice Experience
I was a creative child with a vivid imagination. I amused myself by mimicking the voices of my favorite cartoon characters (e.g., Yogi Bear). And somewhere along the way I developed an ear for speaking with accents, pretending I was British or Irish.
My creative world expanded with my love of reading, drawing and writing. With dreams of being both a best-selling author and a hot-shot TV producer/writer/actress I wrote poems, short stories and scripts.
I even wrote a script for my favorite TV show at the time, Diff'rent Strokes. And of, course I played all the characters. I did all this before I reached the ripe old age of twelve.
Let's fast forward. As a grown-up I am still having fun. I have been a radio personality/DJ with my own nightly Blues show in addition to recording radio commercials and PSA's.
My Training
I hold a B.A. in Political/Pre-law with a minor in Secondary Education.
In college I was a member of Toastmaster's International. I also took courses in oral communications and news reporting. I was a reporter and commentator for our student newspaper. I received several journalism scholarships, and I was asked to serve as an editor for the newspaper.
I have taught on both the pre-school and college level, which helped me communicate information to a diverse audience.
I also have experience in direct sales and telemarketing.
My Studio Equipment
I have a computer-based home studio. I use Audacity audio editing software. I use Shure, V-Tech and Logitech microphones. I have access to royalty-free music.
Additional Skills
I am a writer and graphic designer. I have written numerous frellance articles, and I have designed flyers, brochures, newsletters and other documents. using my desktop-publishing skills.
I really enjoy watching indie films, foreign films and documentaries, especially documentaries about artists, writers, photographers and other creative people.
