Voice Description

For commercial voiceovers, my voice can be smooth, warm and inviting. My voice talent provides the "thank you for calling" voice that is comfortable, familiar and likeable.

Another type of voice over that I do is the soccer mom or the woman next door. I'm also a voice actor that works well as the voice of a hip, young adult.

For on-hold messages, narrations and more technical copy, my voice is warm and confident, smooth and professional.

My Voice Experience

When I was child my third grade teacher said "Rachel, we all know that you can talk, but talking won't get you where you need to go in life." Looking back, I believe Ms. Misanera was a tiny bit misguided!

My career as a voice over talent began over 20 years ago when I was in the studio in Los Angeles recording jingles and demos. One of my clients asked me to record an on-hold message. I loved it! From there a lifetime of voice over work was born.

I have since enjoyed jobs ranging from commercials, to narratives, to voicemail greetings to on-line media presentations. I've worked with large clients, such as T-Mobil, as well as with smaller clients, such as Frontier Communities.

I really enjoy doing voice work and would love to do a voiceover audition for you. It always gives me a great excuse to keep talking!

My Training

I'm a graduate of the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles with a major in voice. I've also attended classes in Dallas, Texas that were designed specifically for voiceover artists.

I have been doing voice work in professional studios for as long as I can remember. When I was 15 years old I was hired to sing the leading role on a children's album. From there my career in the studio began. That life experience has provided me with the most excellent learning opportunities.

Along with voice acting I've had the opportunity to gain numerous other skills. Some of my other life experience includes:
--Traveling the country singing live music and playing the keyboard;
--Owning my own business, hiring and managing multiple employees;
--Raising two beautiful children;
--Working in a corporate environment; and
--Being a consumer in today's market.

I believe all of these things are often relevant to the voice projects that I'm presented with.
