Voice Description
Friends and family have always commented on my voice. They've told me I should work in voiceover and commercials. When I talk about something eveyone around me wants to have it!
My voice is enthusiastic and quirky for commercials. I have a fun, sexy and energetic qualtity that people tell me is "contagious." It is girl-next-door, but with an edge.
Due to my acting training, I am highly equipped and enjoy doing audio books and character voices. I am a good actor who doesn't "push" or show off. Instead, I talk like a real human being, in the character of the woman I am portraying. I love doing heroines from older genres, as well as women of contemporary novels. My accents include: high British, cockney, French, American Southern, and Bostonian.
Children love my voice. I do different charcters for them, and they always listen to me with fascination. I have a youthful, open and honest voice that is down right funny when I choose it to be. This, along with the plethora of people who've told me that I should do cartoon voices, convinces me to jump into the cartoon and video game arenas.
As noted in my demo, I can do different voices - character, cartoon, girl-next-door. But, I can also bring it down a notch and be calm, smoothe, balanced and straighforward. I am perfect for voice mail, phone systems and on-hold messages.
Really, I have a very malleable voice. I study Buddhism and know what it means to just be the voice, without embellishment, for documentaries and films. I gravitate mostly towards fun, upbeat material, but I'm able to see who my audience is and know how to target their distinct interests.

My Voice Experience
People always comment on my voice. When I was little I'd insist that my friends play "commercials" with me. Using my mother's clothes and make up we would spend hours pretending to sell things.
Last April I was the voice behind the "Kick Back and Relax" massage chair ad aired on 101.7 lite FM in Glens Fall, NY (included on my demo).
I am SAG and AEA. My theatre and film experience is extensive. One of my favorite roles was Liz in "Chicago" done at Seaside Music Theatre. I really got to play a "ditz" and go all out with being crazy! Other experience includes:
Oklahoma! (Seaside Music Theatre) - featured dancer
Tale of Two Cities (Seaside Music Theatre) -peasant and aristocrat
Marat/Sade (Suny Geneseo) - nun
The Fairy Queen (SUNY Geneseo) - Hermea
Stephen Foster Musical - Japan tour - (dancer
and singer)
Didymus (Playwrights Horizons) - Ceiphus
Mona Lisa Smile (day player)
I have also done some showcases in the city and a lot of scenes at Geneseo and Hunter, where I went to college.
My Training
I graduated from Hunter with a BA in writing and a minor in dance. Through all of my college career I acted in many shows, studied voice and dance and was cast in numerous musicals.
I graduated from the two-year William Esper Studio acting school, a Meisner-based program two years ago.
At Esper, I studied with Pat Fletcher, a voice teacher, for two year. She taught me how to deepen and expand my voice, breathe correctly, link text smoothly, and develop great articulation, without strain or effort.
I also studied with Stuart Dillion in his "The Art of the Voiceover" seminar at the Esper Studio.
In addition to Esper, I studied Meisner tecnique and Shakespeare with Robert Epstein in Washington D.C. for a summer.
I have sung all my life and have studied through private coaching in NYC from Brad Garcide and Steven Cirello (both coaches for numerous Broadway veterans).
I have played with numerous voices in my improv training at HB STudio, Endangered Improv and am now currently studying with Zach Woods at Upright Citizens Brigade. This has helped me develop characters that are truly my own.
I have met with Tara Boragine from Fireside Management and Michelle Biancullie from Arcieri and Associates for feedback at One on One and Actors Connection and continue to go out whenever I can for voice over seminars.
I also volunteer weekly at Coalition for the Homeless in their "First Step" job coaching program. It is for women who've been in prison or in drug rehab or just need some assistance and are starting over, looking for a job. I come in and do seminars in public speaking and interviewing skills. This brings me so much joy.

Additional Skills
As an actor in NYC for seven years, I've done many types of jobs, from catering, cocktail waitressing, coat checking, promotional work for Broadway shows, non-profit, work reception and filing. I know people. I know voices. I know different charcters because I've been living it all, observing every moment at every job, on every commute, during every social interaction. I love capturing people through my voice. A day doesn't go by where I don't stop and realzie how rich my life is despite the striving.
In answering phones, I've learned how to tactfully deal with many different types of people and as I've sweat buckets out in Times Square in the middle of August, selling people tickets to Sweet Charity over all the other shows, I know what works. I know how to sell.
