Voice Description

My voice can be light & airy to spiteful & angy. I love to do different characters from old ladies to little kids, from crazy drunks to soccor moms. I can sound convincingly out of breath or angry or sick or full of joy. I can be seriously serious, grief striken, excited or calm and relaxed. I am good at getting a feeling for a character and making up a voice to fit them. I have done southern drawl, english and hispanic accents. I am also really good at tongue twisters.

My Voice Experience

My experience is limited but important. You see, I am a mom to three kids. I love to read to them and they love it when I do because I make it so much fun! I have different voices, accents and energy for each character. I have done a little public speaking and each time I have had several people tell me that I am a natural. I have also read to groups of children and been complimented on my abilities. It is so much fun and it seems I am good at it. Therefore I would love to give it a shot perfessionally.

My Training

Well, hopefully this won't be the deal breaker. I have no professional training in voiceover. I have taken singing voice lessons which helped me learn to project and control my voice. I have also been in a few skits and done well. I just love to read, write & speak and do it all with enthusiasm and animation. I have been told many times that I could be a natural at this type of work. That being said, I hope you are willing to allow me the chance to give it a shot.

Additional Skills

Right now I am working with the elderly and I work in my 3 kids' classrooms one day a week (old folks and children make for great voice over material). Sometimes I get to entertain them with my silliness. I sing with the praise team in my church which makes me aware that although I am no Celine Dion I can carry a simple tune fairly well. I have taken singing lessons. I have also done a few skits and found I was able to really get into character, to become that person for the time.
