My Voice Experience
I am 29, male african american with a love for COMMERCIALS and sound recording in general. I have wide array of intrests to include Talk Radio/ Sports Casting / Auctions / Theology / Poetry / Art / Languages .... The list goes on I am well read and well traveled with a love for life thats apparent in my conversation.
My Training
My interest in voice work began in 1987 while in Jr. High School. I had a friend that worked at a local AM radio station. I thought that this was the coolest job EVER, so I called the station every day asking for a job... It took a year, but finally the Station Manager agreed to let me read for him. I went to the station and he gave me a news paper with instructions to "pick something"
I read the Horoscopes... Mr King gave me a job as an on-air personality and I worked there for 3 years on the evening shift ( 7 to 12 ) I read the news, PSA's, commercials and hosted a sunday morning Gospel show.
In 1992 I joined the military and was assigned to Germany where though I couldn't get a position, I assisted with the local USO show. During this time I was an aspiring singer/ songwriter and I began to spend time in local ( German )studios. Though I didn't speak the language I was able to learn a few phrases and soon began to learn recording as well. Soon I began recording English Phrases for the local club DJ's ( NEW MUSIC FROM MC Hammer!!!) The local nationals love American culture and soon I was hearing my Shout outs and toasts in several clubs in Mannheim and outlying areas. Unfortunatly for me, I was reassigned to the States where I continued to record " Dubbs " for Local MIX tapes in the Hampton roads area near Norfolk VA. Once again I relocated this time back to MS, where I was able to get work in radio once again as an on air personality. I was a WACR ( FM ) for about three months before I got a call for a Job in Atlanta, Ga with a Start up Record Lable. While in Atlanta, I recorded commercials for Ciba Vision ( contacts ) Ford Esprite and Berkley Farms' Milk Chug.
