Prentice graduated from Kennesaw State University with a BS in communication and a minor in Professional Writing. She took music classes, public speaking and all types of writing courses, like technical writing, public relations writing, careers in writing, poetry and fiction.

Prentice has been in advanced music classes most her life and was in the Georgia Music Educators Association's "All State Chorus" twice.
