Voice Description
The voice is a deep baritone that can be manipulated into a warm and intimate tone for commercials; a sexy, "whisper-sweet-nothings-in-your-ear" quality; businesslike and professional for presentations and narratives and a dripping with evil, sinister timbre.
I speak only English but am comfortable doing various dialects as a voice over actor and talent. These include: French, English, Scottish, Irish, Russian, Mexican, Southern, Brooklyn, Germanic, comedic Oriental and Indian.

My Voice Experience
During the course of several occupational manifestations over the years, I have provided voice over work for government training and orientation videos, satirical videos for a particular radio station (based on the 1985 Chicago Bears "Super Bowl Shuffle" video), radio cross-promotional ads for television and provided character voices for one independent animation cartoonist with ties to Disney. My most public narration was for the South Carolina Statehouse automated voice mail system complete with onhold messages, voice mail greetings and messages. I have also acted as a media liaison for previous employers in a public relations capacity: radio stations, government agency (most notably the South Carolina State Parks Service) interacting with and answering questions from the media.
My Training
The majority of my voice training comes from an extensive background in commercial and public radio. As a 14-year radio veteran, I have cut my voice over "teeth" on various kinds of commercial, public service, journalistic and narrative productions. While in radio, I was fortunate enough to write many of my own scripts with recording approaches ranging from comedy to serious causes. I have been a radio morning show host and co-host and working radio journalist for most of my career.
I have also done some amateur theatre productions in high school and college, albeit mostly small speaking parts.

Additional Skills
As a former journalist in both radio and newspaper, I prefer to do my research prior to a project in order to get the proper "feel" to the voice over job, especially if I am unfamiliar with a particular topic area. As a former feature writer with published works in several tourism magazines, I look to put the same tone and sense of excitement into my voice over work as I do with my writing.
