Voice Description

I am passionate about doing voice work and can use my skills to effectively sell products for the client. I'm from the Midwest so have no geographical accents and live in a rural hometown area. I can do nice medium deliveries, but can be upbeat and authoritative one minute, soft and friendly the next. I cannot do dialects. I give each product my all and always strive to make the client happy.

My Voice Experience

I started voicing audio for a local TV station in 1974 and assembled my first production studio in 1980. I have a broadcast and communications background that spans more than three decades. I've done work for radio, TV, ad agencies and have done narrative work and on-hold messages as well. I have a list of satisfied clients that are available upon request. I work in local radio full-time but have an in-home studio that enables me to offer quick turnaround.

My Training

Started in broadcasting at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, KS 1973-75, graduated with a BS degree in Radio-Television from Kansas State University (1977) and earned a Master's Degree in Mass Communications from Wichita State University in 1987. Since junior college, have worked in radio, TV, public relations and even fund-raising. Am currently employed by Eagle Radio-Hull Broadcasting, Great Bend-Hays.

My Studio Equipment

I have both a desktop and laptop computer with professional audio sound cards, Adobe Audition software, an Arrakis audio board, professional cassette, CD players, a CD burner, a turntable and for mics use a Sennheiser 416-MKHII, have two Aphex Master Voice Channels (230), a TC Electronics Finalizer Express and an Aphex Compellor 320. Studio is contained in a sound-proof room in my home.

Additional Skills

I've also won numerous awards. Most promising first year student at the local juco 1974, Outstanding Broadcaster of the Year at KS State University 1977, 3 awards including 2 first place honors for my DJ aircheck entry (medium market) through the KS Association of Broadcasters as well as the KAB's Sonny Slater Award (2007) for dedication to the community and to the listening audience.
