As mentioned above, I have been a volunteer reader for READING FOR THE BLIND AND DYSLEXIC for over five years. As such, I was one of four narratord (out of over 150 who read at the DC location) who were chosen to read complete works from start to finish, as opposed to picking up where the last reader left off, reading a chapter or two and then leaving the rest for other readers to complete. Among the works i read were: OTHELLO by Wm Shakespeare, ANGELS IN AMERICA by Tony Kushner and Kafka's METAMORPHOSES.
I have a degree in Education and I have done live corporate training for both ARAMARK and SODEXO. I was also an adjunct faculty member at UMASS School of Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration.
I have done a variety of voice over work including narration (in a FORENSIC FILES format) for the independent film WHO KILLED JAKE B. CHRISTIAN?, I have done ADR, for my own voice as well as another actor who left before the film was completed so I had to dub a new voice into his previously filmed scenes in the docudrama VIRGINIA IS FOR DRIVERS. I was the voice of John Frankenheimer in the full length animated feature WRITTEN OFF and I have done live voice overs at corporate events.
Nineteen months ago I started a second career as an actor. I have been successful in this career because of my voice and because of my previous experience as a narrator and instructor. All of these have been helpful to me in developing voice characterizations and in providing the emotions, emphasis and inflections neccessary to keep a dialogue, monologue and/or narrative moving at an interesting and compelling pace.
In addition to my training as a teacher and as a narrator for RFD&B, I have also taken classes and workshops on character development with Robert G Christie, actor, producer and director, and I have taken voice over traing with EDGE STUDIO in Washington, DC.
I have a home studio and can provide finished and edited voice tracks.
