I can do warm and deep for straightforward narrations, sexy and funny for commercials, and smooth and professional for any kind of presentation.

I can do strident or softly spoken close mic work, with the correct amount of emotion and intonation depending on the subject matter.
I am extremely adaptable and am happy to attempt anything a client might request.

I believe the timbre in my normal speaking voice is quite unique and many I have worked with over the years have remarked on it, and indeed chosen me over others because of it.

I can also pitch my voice from high to low, nasal to upper class in a number of character voices.

My Voice Experience

Twenty years experience as a radio announcer in Adelaide South Australia.
12 years as a Television promo voice over artist.
30 years as a television newsreader in Adelaide and Melbourne, Victoria.

I have recorded hundreds of commercials for radio and television in that time, as well as dozens of corporate and government training video voiceovers. I also had a part as a newsreader in the multiple AFI award winning 2005 film "Look Both Ways" and a speaking part in the 1970s Bruce Beresford production of "Dawn", the story of Australian swimmer Dawn Fraser.

Usually I am able to record whatever it is in just one take, so no time is wasted.
I am a stickler for correct grammar and pronunciation.

My Training

I learned how to manipulate my voice on the job back in my early radio days as an announcer from 1976, in country radio stations; in particular, creating new voices and making otherwise boring commericials fun, informative and interesting to listen to.
I am essentially self taught in this area, but I haven't found that any kind of drawback.
As a child I performed in the internationally known Australian Boys Choir for five years.
I began my working life aged 15, joining the Royal Australian Navy, before entering the broadcast media ten years later.
I am now a senior reporter/journalist/presenter with an Australian television network. In addition to these things, I am the specialist motoring reporter,
researching,producing and presenting weekly two minute segments in the evening television news.

My Studio Equipment

I have a Sony Sound Forge Pro, and a Behringer C1U USB mic,and have access to professional editing and recording studios as well.

Additional Skills

Apart from my military career I have worked for a car manufacturer, retail,and the mining industry, and have extensive general knowledge. I have a personal interest in cars and military history and enjoy reading in my spare time.
