"Well, it all began at a 1000-watt radio station in Sandy Creek, New York..." -- but I got better. Actually, I got out of radio quite some time ago, and ended up on the production crew for a local TV station where I worked various positions, including running audio for live newscasts, specials and remotes.
I performed in community theatre until I was put on the evening shift. I still got the chance to act occasionally when the station did a silly late-night bad-movie show, and the host would enlist crew members to take part in comedy skits.
After getting VO coaching and having a demo produced in 2004, I began working on an occasional, part-time basis for people I knew, as well as pro-bono projects for Librivox and others, then started to get regular paid work doing story narrations for the Anthropomorphic Dreams podcast. I've also done character roles for audio dramas produced by Pendant Productions, Broken Sea Audio, Misfits Audio and others.
After my position was eliminated at the TV station in 2009, I've become a full-time freelancer for voiceover and audio production.

I have experience editing audio, not only to clean up and patch voice tracks (down to replacing syllables), but also processing and adding sound effects and music.
I've also done technical/instructional writing -- how-tos for equipment and procedures at the TV station, informational handouts for a social convention I help to run.
I love BBC Radio comedy and "A Prairie Home Companion" and podcasts like "Bell's in the Batfry" and "Griddlecakes Radio." There's a certain intimacy to the craft of storytelling by audio that appeals to me.
