My Voice Experience
I have never dressed up in a chicken suit.
I do not think I'm Jesus Chris t.
I am easy going and a real pleasure to work with.
I will work for free! (Just kidding) no really, if you are a recognized charity doing good works talk to me.
I am very well versed in all aspects of radio announcing, writing scripts, voicing them, producing them. I currently lecture N.C. Versatile Broadcasting for a local Uni.
I got the bug at aged 11 and become a house D.J. for family and friends; this led to my first professional gig at age 19 i.e. I finally got paid.
I then free -lanced in clubs and pubs for 30 years, before retiring last year.
Not that I stopped enjoying the music, but humping gear around at age 50 rapidly lost its appeal.
I have M.C.ed every kind of product launch, in-store promotion, fashion show you can think of.
I have had extensive experience as a drive time presenter on local radio as well as having my own talk show.
I have commentated for various sporting events (some of which I know very little about. How ever no one has complained as yet.) :The buffalo regatta (a 100 year old international rowing event) Moto-x, Drag racing, road running, International swim meets, Veterans hockey tournaments, School cricket.
Have recorded for call-on-hold.(now I can get irritated with myself when I call those companies, and wish to speak to a real live person)
Have scripted and voiced for T.V. documentaries.
Conceptualize, script, voice and produce adverts for many recognized local, regional and National radio stations.
Have scripted, voiced and produced an audio travelogue as podcasts.
I am single so I am able to travel anywhere at anytime, if the money is right.
My Training
When I started in this business (around the time man discovered fire) there were no courses being offered anywhere.
Fortunately my club work brought me into contact with many radio jocks, and I was able to visit with them and learn from them, while I made the tea, and fetched the copy from the telex machine. I eventually pestered my way into a part time slot on BRFM,
our local radio station, where I co-presented a show called that will be the day, which I researched and produced.
This led to my being given my own slot, called restaurant round up.
I then joined a group of like minded people and helped set up our local Christian Community radio Link FM.
I then started a radio service in our largest mall, and built up a very lucrative business over several years.
After selling it, I returned to the club and pub business for one more last hurrah, and then packed it in to teach broadcasting at my local uni, where I am still happily ensconced today.
During this time I was also very busy writing, voicing and producing adverts for Big wave productions, Jubilee productions, as well as Audio sport and Radvidio
The End.
