My voice experience began as a teacher. As an English teacher I used voice and oral interpretation as a teaching tool to bring a story to life for students. Working with reluctant middle school readers I discovered that I could use my voice to bring a story to life and get students involved and reading. As a liturgical reader in church I was often asked to read during the service and for holiday programs. I have recorded numerous stories to be used as readalongs for students. These recordings have been used in school and the Crawford County library. I have just completed a successful voice training with Ben Marney under the auspices of Such a Voice.
I have a Bachelors degree in English literature from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. I also have a Masters degree in Education. In college I was involved with Oral Interpretation with Mary Gwen Owens. My latest training was in voice over with Ben Marney of Such a Voice.
I have a macbook with OS10.6, a Blue Yeti microphone, DT770 PRO headphones, and a quiet vocal booth.
My love of working with voice began when I realized that I had the ability to bring a story to life for middle school students and get them involved with it. My skill has developed over time. With the help of my coach and the Such A Voice training I have expanded my skills so that I can be effective at commercial and narrative work.
