Voice Description

My voice is quite unique, I have been told this many times over the years. I have a Brooklyn base accent,hidden and mixed with a midwestern flair. At times one can pick out a carribean flavor but very subtly, at particular times. Overall, I believe my voice to be quite settling and contains the ability to be sometimes very ominous, sort of elder brother type.
My wife oten tells me that my voice is qite deep and rather sexy and that I have missed my mark in life by not persuing a career as an announcer. I believe her in this way of thinking. professionaly speaking at work I am often mistaken via voice as belonging to another ethnic and racial community. Thus telephone speaking can be quite interesting at times,not to mention rather disarming when the recipient of the conversation confronts me at a later time. It has sometimes proven to be rather funny when people realise, that I am not who they imagined me to be.I kind of like to see the suprise on thier faces whenever this occurs.

My Voice Experience

I have served honorably for six years in the (USAF). I have worked as an X-Ray Technologist for approximately 30years, and have enjoyed my profession and the contact with the public, while in this capacity. Often times ,it is necesary to speak to many types of people in a given day and some times my (ear) is exposed to many types of accents which at time I have tended to mimmic.
stangely enough when people are in pain one must gain thier attention quickly and at times it not the alknowing proffesional voice that does it.
At times and more often than you can imagine it is the voice of question and concern that gathers and focuses thier attention. An example of this is ( If a child has a broken arm ) It has proven best to leave the control to the child as to what is going to happen to thier appendage. Thus I will ask in a very commanding voice,though questioning. '( Will you allow me to take an X-Ray of your arm to see if it is broken)? and 99% of the time that voice along with the question posed not as a question but as a command will render an affirmation of agreement by the child. Strangely enough this is pretty much the same with most adults.
And so I feel that my voice can be utilized in many way's that can continue to induce possitve outcomes on a grander scale. Which will incorporate my years of experience as a working speaker to grow and be better served.

My Training

my training in voiceoveris not traditional by any means. I have performed in school play when I was younger,and have had opportuity to sing in my highschool choral. I have done only a minimal number of play's while in highschool. and yes that was quite a few(correction) many years ago.
I have had the priveledge of being requested to speak at the graduation class of X-Ray Technologist's in 2002. at Emory University here in Geogia. I am very proud of that moment in my life. Not to mention it was a prettygood speach by far. I was requested to speak to graduating students in Douglasville in 1991 as a means of recruiting students to the field of Radioogy as well. I found that to be rewarding as well.
So my training as I have stated is not significant by any rule or standard however, I believe that with effort on my behalf, and the prper exposuer will exceed and do rather well in time.

I believe that it is best to know that I am a very trusting and caring individual. I love my wife and children and place them second only to (God).
I believe that all we are, is due to the choices we make knowingly and unknowingly,at times. We all have a path that we choose to follow, however, many times these paths are altered by life choices. However, we sometimes forget that we also are endowed with an inherent set of circumstances that do not always unfold at our choosing. And because of this we can and are allowed to seek opportunities that lead us in directions and to hights in wich we never dreamed of reaching. I believe and will continue to belive in the possibilities of life . For I am almost ceratin that that built in agenda the one we cannot alway's touch by ourselves is brought out and in to being by new opportinities and a beliefe that one higher than ourselve has an ultimate path for us all, as individuals to follow. Collectively, we will truly meet the mark given time , exposure and unyielding faith.
