Voice Description

I have a deep, resonant basso-profundo (my fiance says it "sounds like melted chocolate"). However, because of extensive vocal training, I can reach natural speaking ranges into high tenor. I can do virtually any accent, and several celebrities, including Jack Nicholson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Christopher Walken, Sean Connery, Kevin Spacey, Jackie Mason, and several others. My native language is English (my natural voice has no accent, as I come from the Northern Midwest), but I am fluent in German, and conversant in Norwegian, Greek, and Latin. I have made a study of speech patterns, and truly believe that I can do almost anything with my voice. It's the only damn talent I have.

My Voice Experience

Aside from being State Champion in 89 and 90 in both Speech to Entertain and Humorous Interpretation for the Northwest National Forensics League (yes, I was a speech and debate dork), I have worked in radio for over ten years as a disc jockey (all formats), production director (where I mastered a whole lot of voices, accents, and characters), and voice-over work with the University of North Dakota. I have done voice-overs for Retrax Retractable Truck Bed Covers, several TV commercials, and a very long (and stunningly tedious) educational video for Japanese pilots trying to learn American aviation terminology and protocol.

My Training

I started voice lessons at the age of ten, and continued them until I graduated high school in 1990. I have been in over 20 stage productions and five feature films, all of which required a different voice for the respective character. I also am an accomplished guitarist and singer.
