Voice Description

My voice is warm and youthful. I can be smooth, professional and serious - for presentations and news casts. I can also be enthusiastic and fun for commercials. I speak clearly and project very well.
English is my first language. I studied Spanish for six years in high school, and can probably still read Spanish dialog well, as far as pronounciation goes.

My Voice Experience

My voice talent "career" began in 4-H, when I was eight years old. That was the year I started doing 4-H "demonstrations", which are short public presentations.

My most recent voice work consists of creating characters in children's books, as I read bedtime stories to my nephews.

I'm also a great story teller and "re-creator" of incidents that happen in my life, all done for the entertainment of my family, friends and co-workers.

I have experience as a News Director at a radio station, where in addition to live and pre-recorded broadcasts, I hosted a half-hour daily talk show.

In my current job, one of my responsibilities is to act as the spokesperson for the State Government Agency for which I work. I am frequently interviewed on camera and on the telephone by TV and radio news reporters. I also facilitate (host and supervise) public meetings of all shapes and sizes, make frequent public presentations and staff exhibits at fairs, expos and career-fairs.

In addition, I hold down a part-time job at a national craft & fabric retailer. I am the guest services representative, who is responsible for answering the telephone and making announcements for the store. My colleagues there tell me I have a great voice.

My Training

While I have no "formal" voice training, I did take public speaking courses during my undergraduate training. I hold a BS in Communications (Cornell University)and an MS in Public Relations (Buffalo State College). I also hold a Master's Certificate in Creative Studies(Buffalo State College). My college career required me to do quite a few oral presentations.
