Voice Description

My voice is warm and deep. It sounds official and authoritative, but I'm a generally lighthearted guy, so that often comes through in my voice. I'm good at narrating and storytelling, especially for documentaries or audio books. Also, commercials, industrials, promos, trailers, etc. are all possibilities if you find that my voice is what you are looking for. I got into doing voice overs because so many people asked me to record the outgoing greeting on their answering machines. And my friends would always love it when I would imitate the moviephone guy.

Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects

My natural tone of speaking has no discernible accent (from an American perspective, that is). As can do a perfect announcer voice, typically heard in characters like Don Pardo (SNL) or the Moviephone guy. I can also sound like Gregory Peck, Yosemite Sam and Yukon Cornelius.

My Voice Experience

I was a Radio broadcaster at KNTU in Denton, TX in the late '90s. Although I was a natural in this field, I focused more on my music career and didn't pursuit VO work until about 3 years ago.

My Training

I have taken voice over lessons with Marla Kirban in New York City. I have a music degree from North Texas, and work extensively as a musician in New York. I have taken classes at NYU in film editing and post production.

My Studio Equipment

For recording, I take all of my projects to professional recording studios that have top notch gear and isolation booths. I do the editing and mixing (and whatever else is called for) at my home studio - I work mostly in Logic. Final audio tracks will be sent out through my server in the form of aiff or wav files at 24 bit, 44.1 Khz, which is DVD pro quality. Other resolutions could be employed if requested.

Additional Skills

I also compose and produce music, and I have the resources to do the sound effects editing myself. With all of these skills, I can be of better assistance overall for your project. It cannot be stressed enough that my experience in music production directly relates to the overall sound quality I'm capable of achieving for your vocal tracks. So many demos that you'll hear on this website have been recorded BADLY because people use inferior equipment, don't know how to mix and master, and don't know the difference.
