Accents, Impersonations, Characters and Dialects
I am not a native English speaker but have lived in the UK for the last 9 years. I could not describe my accent accurately as it is influenced by many factors: My mother tongue is German but I do not have a German accent at all! I am however capable of performing a genuine german accent. Furthermore my accent is influenced by the fact that half of my family is indian. The media and travels to the US also have an effect on my accent.
All in all, I would describe my accent as very interesting and possibly unusual. From time to time it has been suggested that I have a french or even canadian accent!
As I am a native german speaker and have constant contact to the german language, I do not have a german accent. I speak the clean and 'normal' form of so called "Hoch-Deutsch"
My Voice Experience
Prolingua Productions (2005-present): roughly 10-15 weekends of recordings since 2005 for educational content (Oxford University Press). The project is an audio CD for GCSE to A-Level students studying German called "Klasse!" Pay rose from £80 daily to £120 daily. Location: The Soundhouse Ltd (postcode: W6 0BA).
Footstep Productions (2007-present): roughly 15 recording sessions for educational content in German. Pay: £100 per day. Valuable professional contacts made. Location: Air Edel Studios London (postcode: W1V 8BJ)
Voice over session for a professionally produced short film (Chin Up) by University of Westminster graduates.
My Training
I graduated as best male student (result:1,7) from the German School London in 2009 with the german equivalent to A-Levels: The Abitur
In 2010 (after my Gap Year) I will start a "Film and Post Production Technology" course at Staffordshire University, as I have always been interested in the media business.
